2009 proved challenging for our nation’s economy and the national real estate market, however Pittsburgh and Heartland Homes bucked those trends by having another fantastic year. Heartland’s overall market share in the tri-county area of Allegheny, Butler, and Washington has risen to nearly 20% from around 12% in 2007. This puts Heartland very close to being the largest home builder in Pittsburgh – not just the number one custom home builder. “We don’t have a goal to be the biggest home builder,” says Heartland Homes founder Alan Gillespie. “I really feel that our quality speaks for itself and that the market continues to react to it.”
Certainly a big part of the success comes from Heartland's ability to allow custom changes at affordable prices.Of course the addition of Heartland Everywhere, a division of the company that builds on individual home sites outside of Heartland communities has also been a big part to the increase in market share. “We can now build truly anything, anywhere,” says marketing director Kevin Oakley. “From a $150,000 home to $1.5 million – we are ready to help our customers realize their dreams.”
